Student Projections

  • Projections of school enrollment (districtwide, and by census block groups and subdivisions)

  • Projections of re-distribution of students within a district and changing density of built-out, mature neighborhoods

  • Projections of the size of special student populations, tailored to determine needed changes in facilities or services

  • Development of ratios of students per household for every major subdivision in a district in order to asses neighborhoods (currently and in the future) with low or high densities of students

  • Tabulation of current student distributions and student projections by neighborhood and block-group for planning attendance zones and for planning new schools

  • Comparisons of school districts with similar demographic and scholastic characteristics, designed to expedite expenditure decisions

Attendance Zone And Long Range Planning

  • Site selection and timing for new schools

  • Attendance zone planning and collaboration with boundary committees to realign attendance zones

  • Inventory of capacities of existing facilities and programs in relation to projected facility and program needs

Participation in Facility Planning and Bond Elections

  • Comparison of capacities of each existing school with projected new students per year

  • Presentation of the projections methodology and capacity measurements to a bond committee, so that the timing and location of the schools can be identified and a bond election held

Mapping

  • Mapping of students and mapping of critical data for visual presentations

  • Aerial imagery of existing, planned, and potential development, as well as factors critical to development

Geo-Coding

  • Geo-coding of students' addresses by place of residence and computer-mapping of students by grade, grade group, special education, LEP/bilingual status, gifted, etc. With this accurate mapping of students, polygons can be delineated for special program planning, as well as for attendance zones, and/or bus transportation purposes.
